Overview
You can delete your Ideal-M account and associated workspace data at any time. When your account is deleted, we remove your user record from our database. Related data (such as organization membership, projects, assets, and jobs linked to your account) is removed through database cascade rules or becomes inaccessible without your account.
Option 1: Delete your account in the app (recommended)
- Sign in to your Ideal-M account.
- Open your account menu (profile icon in the top bar) and choose Manage account.
- In the Clerk account portal, select Delete account and confirm.
Deleting your account through Clerk triggers our systems to remove your user record from our database via a secure webhook. OAuth tokens for connected platforms (Facebook/Meta, TikTok) stored for your account are deleted as part of this process.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you cannot access your account, email privacy@ideal-m.com from the email address associated with your Ideal-M account. Include:
- Subject line: Data deletion request
- Your full name
- The email address used to register
- A brief statement that you want your account and data deleted
We will verify ownership and process verified requests within 30 days, typically sooner.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove or disassociate:
- Your user profile (name, email, profile image reference)
- Organization memberships tied to your user ID
- Projects, assets, exports, and jobs you created (subject to org ownership rules)
- Pulse settings and stored platform connection tokens for your account
- Clerk authentication records (handled by Clerk when you delete via their portal)
What may be retained
- Backups — encrypted database backups may retain deleted data for a limited retention window before being overwritten.
- Logs — server and security logs may contain anonymized or minimal identifiers for a short period for fraud prevention and debugging.
- Legal requirements — we may retain information if required by law or to resolve disputes.
Connected third-party platforms
Meta / Facebook
Before deleting your Ideal-M account, you can disconnect Facebook from Settings → Platform connections. Deleting your Ideal-M account removes tokens we stored for Meta API access.
Data held by Meta itself (your Facebook account, ad accounts, etc.) is not controlled by Ideal-M. To manage or delete data on Meta’s platforms, visit Facebook Settings or Meta’s help center.
TikTok
Disconnect TikTok from Settings before account deletion if connected. For data held directly by TikTok, use TikTok’s in-app privacy settings.
AI providers
Content sent to third-party AI services during your use of Ideal-M is subject to those providers’ retention policies. We do not control deletion on their systems after processing.
Media and object storage
Creative files (images, videos) stored in object storage are tied to your projects and assets. When those records are deleted, associated storage objects are removed or orphaned files may be purged during routine maintenance.
Confirmation
After processing a deletion request, we will send confirmation to your account email when possible. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
